Well the day has come where I actually gave my hard earned money to Modular Mustang Racing!.........(-_-) hahaha but it was for a new transmission. I put the Down payment on a New TKO600. They are having a sale on them for 1999.99 Brand New. So I guess if you are looking for a New Tranny to replace the old T-45 like I got. Its not a bad price considering summit and others are like 2300.00

Ok so the reason I am making this thread is cuz I would like to get some input. Does anyone have a 99-04 GT with A Kenne Bell 2.1, specifically do you live in California?
I live in CA and all we have here is 91 octane so that makes a difference from fellow stangers in states where 93 is offered. I got a 96 GT here but the new motor is a basic PI engine so thats why I say 99-04.

what kind of numbers are you putting down? What is your compression and boost levels? do you have any major problems? so on and so on.
I got the ticket here from MMR and what I have ordered is a Street Mod 600 with a Forged 6 Bolt crank (so technically im a streetmod 750 but still a standard 4.6) with a 9.5:1 compression.
I got the ARP head and main studs and a MMRStreet/racing Oil pump.

I have time to change the order so i figured I would squeeze as much research out that i can before I get the engine on March 1st.

I called Kenne bell and talked to a guy there, Mark I think it was. He said the compression of 9.5 was perfect. he also said 9-10lbs of boost. Mostly because the fuel in CA. However I talked to Gonzalo @ GTR High Performance and i gathered from him around 12lbs of boost was the max for 91 octane.
No one wants to blow up or detonate their engine, so I just wanted to get some specs from people who are doing good with kenne bell 2.1. but every story has 2 sides, how about the bads. who blew up their engine? what was the specs on that?

thanks from a person that wants his engine to last.

i wouldnt worry about the gas. The shop where you have it tuned can work with you on that. They can pull timing or swap pullies if they see detonation.
