Since then I've just made it a habit of filling up when the gauge dips below 1/4 just to be on the safe side. Before I dropped the tank to install the fuel pump, the gauge was reading around 1/8, maybe a lil lower, and I'm surprised to see there's hardly any fuel in the tank, maybe 1/2-1 gallon (kinda hard to guess). That seems like a lot less than what should show at 1/8 tank. Since the tank is down anyway, should I replace the fuel level sending unit and would it maybe fix my problem? They're $80 at 50resto.
