When my 94 was about 9yo, the mirror lights would come on randomly (car is a convertible, so this is the only interior lighting it has.) Eventually it would stay on so long that the bulbs would melt the silver off the mirror, and I would burn myself if I touched it!I ended up just removing the bulbs and replaced them with LED, until a few years later, the drivers side door ajar chime went off. I changed the sensor and both problems fixed themselves. So while I don’t believe I had a problem with my aftermarket security alarm, there definitely was something wrong with the door ajar sensor. It just had to get worse before it became more obvious.</blockquote>
