Well, I just got a call from the Body shop this morning that my Cobra hood needs lots of prep work. We went to go and see it and they weren't kidding! The hood was completely TERRIBLE and had bubbles everywhere in the fiberglass, giant dips in the hood, and needs around 10 hours worth of prep work. Mrbodyshop.com sold me the hood and I sent them one HORRIBLE email about this very very crappy product. An original $800 hood will cost me an extra ~$1000-ish. NEVER EVER buy from Mrbodykit.com, they have HORRIBLE products.

Thing I am most pissed about, the dealership RECOMMENDED us buying from these guys! I am going to bitch them out sooo much next time I see them. I should have done research earlier, live and learn I guess.

thtas not the dealerships fault.

take LOTS of pictures,

get a quote from the body shop (on paper)

demand 100% refund (including S+H)

if they refuse file a small claims law suite :)

its just that easy. as soon at the paperwork hits their front door, youll have all your money back or a brand new hood. if not, you go to court (which i HIGHLY DOUBT will happen) you show them the pics, and the estimate, and they rule in your favor. :)

The Cobra hood I bought was just about a waste of #$!! They have it looking nice, just took a lot of work! Here are the only 2 pics I have of it:

The end were splitting apart, every corner was broke, the hood had hard water stains that I knew of when I bought it, my cousin tells me the paint was in far worse shape than we talked about! It's looking great now, just took a lot of elbow grease!

the only way they can give a refund is if the hood has no work done on it, like no sanding, no primer, no bondo ect.ect., as soon as a piece of sand paper touches that hood it voids all return options, they say it right in there return policy

Where did you get your hood from? I should have taken pics, but they are baking it tomorrow morning and he said he will call after it's done baking. Seriously though, I will never buy a product without research again. The bumper was AMAZING OEM Ford cobra bumper, that will look nice and the hood has inlets at the back for airflow, so it will look deadly when done but dang, the hood needs TONS of love :(.

They are baking it tomorrow to get all impurities to pop out but anyways I am using this hood no matter what now, I'll lose even more money switching out hoods at this point. I have 3 questions for the dealership when he calls tomorrow 1. How much extra is the prep going to cost(I was quoted $450 this morning). 2. Since this is an insurance claim, I need to get the refund for the stock hood(Thats $300 for me to pay for the new one) and 3. Tell him all the feedback about mrbodykit and tell him to NEVER recommend them to another person again.

EDIT: Just got a response to my nasty email, they said they need pics and they will see what they do. They say they have never sent out a bad hood before, ya right :confused1:

Was this to me? I bought it off of Ebay, if it is! Yeah, it will turn out great though! I was supposed to have my car back by 12/17!! Because it needed the work, pushed it back to 1st of Jan is all I know! It will all be fine though!!

Yea it was for you. IF we can get pics tomorrow, I will post them for you guys, car is expected to be done next week though. It WILL look amazing, but it better considering the extra amount of prep work needed :BangHead:
BTW, Forgot to mention that it's a Cobra R hood. I love the 3 steps of the 95' Cobra R hoods, just looks badass!

No reply from the dealership so no pics. mrbodykit is REALLY making themselves look bad, here is the latest email from them, FYI, Im at the #1 Ford dealership in my province for this work :p.

Your not a ford dealership are you ??
Its the worst place to take a mustang for after market part installations or paint. You pay double anywhere else.

Please send us the pictures and we will take a look.

EDIT: Just received an email after I told them it's at a Ford dealer. If we send pictures they will help pay for some of the extra prep work. At least they have good customer service...

Lol good pic. Anyways I am getting a $100 refund from Mrbodykit and the makers of the hood, $50 from each. The hood is actually looking alot better now. The body shop is going to black out parts on it to hide the bubbling in the hood. In other words, either A) the whole upper section of the cowl will be black or B) The 2nd cowl "step" will be black. Either way, it is going to look purdy!
