efi question

Ok in need of some help im building a 427 sbf and im going with efi, My question my local track only sells leaded race fuel will it hurt to run it through the injectors

Well, it is light lead, not permatory lead so it is not as bad as "leaded" gas but you can foul out cats with enough of it.

It will seat in A LOT of heavy carbon. Just make sure you get regular unleaded gas in it though, if you run south of about 12.5:1 compression, you'll cover all the pistons/valves/chambers etc.

You should run unleaded with the race gas imo. Never just race gas.

thanks for the help, yea it is going to be a lower compression and boost motor and i dont have to worry about cats im going with o/r mid pipe

It will eventually foul your O2s.

Unless it a race-only motor, you're better off just building a motor that runs on pump gas.

leaded gas will not hurt the injectors

if you plan on running boost and want additional octane / lower inlet temps its hard to pass up the benefits of meth injection.

93 octane plus 50/50 meth / water is ~116 octane. pure meth will get you over ~120

plans as of now are a 427 Windsor sbf and a vortech, i was looking at meth injection but dont understand how it works so i need to do some more reading up on it

wow...427 plus a supercharger.

I am assuming this is going to be strictly a race car?

not planning on alot of boost just 5lbs or so and it will be full interior street car but it wont see a whole lot of street time mainly a weekend drag/fun car
