EGR wiring

Replacing a broken connector for my EGR valve, new connector has 3 black wires insted of being colour coded. Does it matter how the wires are connected

if it does not have some kind of schematic with it to tell which wire is what I am would assume it does not matter, but we all know what that can lead to....

The connector should only fit on the valve one-way. Note which wire goes to which pin.
All 3 wires go to the ECU, so yes it matters.
