Engine Pulling Questions????

So Got The motor Pulled.... Here are a Few Comments...

-Had to Sawzall the front end off to get the motor out.

-Call Up a Buddy and Got a Hoist for the job

-Borrowed a engine stand for a while from another buddy's back yard

-Fail-Matic Trans make a REALLY big mess when the fluid comes out :sad5:

-My Brother, My dad, 2 car buddies and myself all pulled the motor them ate pizza after.... Pretty fun day :headbang:

-Clean up Sucked..... Lots of "Oil-Dry" was purchased :laughing5:

-We used the 2 Alternator Bolts and 2 holes on the back of each head to pull the motor

HANDZ FIRST ENGINE PULL!!!

Finally Out!!!

This Engine stand did not reach enough to allow all 4 arms to bolt to the motor..... Had to "Mod" the engine stand with a Drill press + Grinder to fit the 4.6.

Guess where this is going...... :thefinger:

Actually Paul, all the mess on the driveway cleaned up. The concrete os crisp clean thanks top all the scrubbing we did..... its the Blacktop stains that wouldnt come out but thats on the street lol

What did you use to get it out? I have a few spots on my driveway and I've tried everything and I can't get it out. It's why I ended up epoxy coating my floors in my garage.

Well, I went to the store and bought ALOT of some stuff called "Oil-Dri" and some stuff from all mark called "Premium Absorbent". What I did was pull the absorbant on the stains and took a big broom and agitated the stains very well until it came out. It took a while, but it worked.

I've tried that. No workie. I've tried the most concentrated, caustic crap I could find. Still nothing. My next step will be to acid-etch the whole driveway, and sand it down like I did with my garage floors.

Maybe my huge mess cleaned up well because we literally cleaned up RIGHT after shit started to dump out of the trans, Even my mom was surprised how well it cleaned up.

i would have done this in my garage, but there is not enough clearance for the hoist's height.
