Basically there is a stud? not sure what you wanna call it but that sticks up from under the hood and when your hood is closed they come up through the hole drilled in the hood and a pin is stuck through a hole in the studs to keep the hood from coming past the pin. Can you get away with just the latch, thats debatable. I would just use common sense here, theres a lot of force going 65+ pushing up on the hood. Friend of mines Cervini hood would kinda wobble up and down a bit on the freeway cause the latch was not holding on too good so he got pins to be on the safe side.</blockquote>
