hey i am kinda of new here.. i have been lurking mostly but anywho i just bought a 95 cobra r hood and it was drilled for hood pins.. although i really do not like hood pins i heard it was best to use them.. the only reason i ask is because i have seen the hood pins go from the top of the hood to somewhere inside the headlights.. and after that i really dont know what happens under the hood... so how do they work? how are you suppose to install and use them? pics would be nice.. sorry if it seems like a dumb question but i am confused

just use a latch

His hood is already drilled for pins.... Might as well get pins.

I personally like them. Basically there is a stud? not sure what you wanna call it but that sticks up from under the hood and when your hood is closed they come up through the hole drilled in the hood and a pin is stuck through a hole in the studs to keep the hood from coming past the pin.

Can you get away with just the latch, thats debatable. I would just use common sense here, theres a lot of force going 65+ pushing up on the hood. Friend of mines Cervini hood would kinda wobble up and down a bit on the freeway cause the latch was not holding on too good so he got pins to be on the safe side.

i would have them filled and just use the latch. You better make sure you put them in every time. Trust me its easier to forget than you think. I have a abc hood(s) and i have never had a problem i cruise at 75 on the highway daily here.

i'm sure you could but it probably wouldnt be worth it, the latch receiver is pretty much part of the hood. Get the right hood pins and it'll look good dude.

well if it's got the steel latch you should be fine without hood pins as long as it's installed and aligned properly. If you still need to get the hood painted just have them fill in the holes, if it's ready to go on the car just buy some cheap hood pins to fill the holes, something like this should work just fine.

if you do use pins you better have a latch as back up. Like i said its easier to forget than you think. ive had a hood come back into the glass at 60 and its not fun
