Fav Wash Mit?

I have used the Meguires microfibre wash mit, very plush and suds up real good IMO but it doesn't feel like it would trap the dirt away too easily.

I generally use "The Green One Chenille/Microfiber Wash Mitt" from Obsessive Detail. Which I really like, the only reason I perfer the meguires is it tends to hold the suds better.

Just curious what you guys use to help keep the swirls down.

Natural Sea Sponge from AutoGeek is Still my #1 Favorite!!! I love the way you can hold it and it the Sea Sponge hold more suds than Anything!!!

I have been using the same Natural Sea Sponge since 2008!!! I have a back-up ready to go but my sea sponge is still going great and i use it every week on my mustang!!!

For some reason i like Sponges WAY better than mitts. I feel they are easier to work with for me and i dont like having my hand connected to something while i work.

Yeah, super soft too? How are they on a dirty car? Swirl free? I just cant justify spending that much on a mit, autogeek way over prices those, who ever they get them from probably sells them for $5

I really dont know if its the same. I have the EXPENSIVE DoDo Juice Wookie's fist also and i like the sea sponge more. Alot more.

When the sea sponge is wet, its softer than anything i have ever felt. Way softer than Wool mitt.

Just for the record, getting a swirl free finish has alot to do with technique of washing.

Oh i know I meant marring I guess. Some mitts tend to trap dirt on them.

I'm just scared that if i buy one of these sponges from a cheaper store not ment for detailing that it might not have been cleaned as well before sale.... So there might be a small rock or sand in the sponge that could f*ck the car.

when i got my sea sponge it had 2 or 3 very small rocks in it when i was washing it right after i opened it. I washed it like 10 times before i used it first on my car.

Dang...thats scary. I wonder why they wouldn't thoroughly check those before selling them?

They do a very good cleaning, but even autogeek says you need to wash before using.... it does come from the sea.

I've thought about picking some up next time I was in the Tarpon Springs area. I usually go down for the Phillies spring training but I was busy with work this year. Its an entire town built around the Sea Sponge Industry.

Do mitts really help? I always just use a cloth towel. My dad always did it so it just transferred over.

I personally love my Carrand Microfiber Wash Mitt. Picked it up for really cheap over on Autogeek too.

I prefer Eurow's natural lamb wool mitts myself. Their Heavy wool mits have a lot of wool to them.
I did a "penny gauge" test a while back to show the difference in in thickness
Medium mitt (head still visible)

Nice those look good, how are they for holding suds? Tried one once and it always seemed as if I was washing with just water.

I Used my New Dodo Juice Wookie's Fist today.... Its VERY soft and fluffy like an animal.

I don't focus on suds to be honest I go by lubricity. As long as the mitt glides across the paint I'm good. If you ever try a rinsless wash their is zero suds (looks like lightly colored water) but it works just fine. I can't say I ever looked at the mitt while washing thinking man it holds a lot of suds, so I would say your experience would be the same with these. They do hold plenty of liquid.

Might catch some hell for this, but I actually use a Meguier's 3 ft brush that's about 5 years old. I bought it a while back while working at a dealership doing wash and make ready.
