Alright. I took one of the set screws I had, slotted it(4 slots deeper than thread depth angled slightly to assist in pushing the debris out while turning it.) Ran it in and out 1/4 turn at a time for whaT seemed like forever, and now it goes In less 1 or 2 threads. Was able to clear out/chase both sides. (No $40 lmr block off plates for me! Winning!!) Now I will probably just use a shot of rtv permatex black, and send in some set screws and stamp that one as finished. Then it was about to down pour so I grabbed the transmission and jack, ran it down into the basement so I can work on it at leisure at night. Of course part of me wants to learn how to rebuild t5 just because. So I have been watching videos and debating if I want to sink a bunch of money into parts to try and eliminate transmission whine on a trans I might not be using for more than a year or 2... (for the sake of learning of course) What do you think? Is it a fools errand to spend money to learn about assembling and disassembling a T5 and the proper gear meshing? I may end up having to rebuild 1 or even 2 of the TR3650s I have in the future.
