My 94 gt has been running rich lately, exhaust smells pretty strong and it's left black soot on my rear bumper. I tested my fuel pressure at the rail and it's reading 36psi with vacuum and 44psi without vacuum. My repair manual says 30-45psi with vacuum and 40-50psi without vacuum is within spec. But I've also read on here that you want right at 39psi without vacuum, so am I really in spec? Also, if the pressure is a little high, wouldn't the EEC read a rich condition from the 02 sensors and adjust injector pulse accordingly? The 02 sensors and coolant temp sensor are original to the best of my knowledge, so they could both be a factor in the rich condition as well. I have an offroad H-pipe and my egr and smog pump deleted, which I know will cause you to run a little rich, but I wouldn't think it would be THAT rich.
