WHAT!?! there is somthing seriously wrong with your car if your gas milage sucks that much or you're running like 4 10 gears and dog it 24/7 cause I read a thread about the 5.0 cars and they said they were getting like 270 miles per tank

use cruise control often?

Does cruise control on by default when you start the car?

You must hit "on" then set the speed you wish, shoot for 2-3 mph under if your setting it on a hilly road. It will go 5-6 mph over the set speed going down hill before it brakes.

Shittty mpg due to cold weather and warm ups. In the summer with no a/c I was getting a little over 320.

Lol my bad for some reason I thought you meant overdrive. Would overdrive effect it? And no I don't use cruise control.

Our tanks are 15.8 gallons...I get 23-26 MPG on my V8 all freeway driving & 18-20mpg in town depending on my lead foot action. Do you have an owners manual? If so you better read it & study all the specs & info there it will help a lot. On a long trip I can get 325 miles on a tank with a theoretical max of 395+. Sometimes the V8's can achieve better gas mileage than a sixxer as they can just loaf along at small throttle openings. My sons 04 Mach 1 has hit 30mpg several times that way with 26-28 all the time.

heh... with all the fuel mileage threads, it amuses me when a new one starts. Especially with the same few people posting in them.

Never the less, I must still state that in my '98 V6 5-speed I can pull 400+ miles per tank average.

Got 425 once just playing around with different acceleration patterns and shift points...

Dang yall get amazing gas miliage. Cause even during the summer I got 240 miles per tank. And I dont use the cruse control very often because I do mostly city driving. I may be on the interstate a hole 10 minutes. So I guess I need a tune up badly? And I have the stock gear ratio and dont really ever floor it cause it isnt much to show off hah.

City driving will always produce far worse mileage than highway. Especially with the gearing our stock rear ends have.

I get 400+ per tank but most of my driving is highway. When I do all city, I'm only getting about 260~ish. Best I got with only city was 300. That was only once. Could've been a fluke.

i have a 96 v6 and my odometer is stuck so i don't know the exact mileage but it seems like it isn't that good. check engine light was fixed on mine long ago so all sensors and emissions is running normal but it seems like gas mileage still kinda sucks for a 6er. and nothing done to the engine except for CAI. did put a 00 v6 rear end on with 3.27's instead of the 2.73's
