I don't have much sense anymore. I was always very good in the common sense department though. I still have 90% of it. I try to use it whenever I can. I know that 94-04 Verts uses the same exact stuff. Oh yeah, my top leaks bad!!! It all started when my top flew open while driving. I took it to my upholstery guys & they told me what was wrong. They said my latches needed to be replaced. That broke, so my top flew open. I got a junkyard RH side rail. That's when my leaking started. I love to wash a car. But have to tape mine all up, water still gets in a little. I can't drive in any weather, not that I mind that though.

My common sense tells me that I can buy like a newer entire top. I wanted a Termi one. Prob will just get a cheaper V6 or GT one, though. I'm thinking that a newer one will just be newer, so it won't leak? I'm thinking correct, aren't I? Just need to hear if from a normal brain, I guess. Thanks!!

To me it doesnt sound like the top itself is leaking, it's the seals

Are the latches adjusted correctly so it pulls the top tightly against the front? Quick test is to try shining a flashlight from inside the car when it's dark out and see if you have any light showing along the seal

Also if the metal frame was bent or broken when the top flew up you will need to repair or replace that before you do any fabric work

sorry to hear about your top problems, i think all us vert people have had to deal with simalare issues.

i know my drivers side latch is bad on my car but it holds still, just not snug against the windsheild. i live in oregon so i have to deal with rain almost daily. my trick right now is i use a 40 inche long strip of weather stripping, 1 inche by .5 inches. i double it up by folding it over and put it between the top and the windsheild. i've washed my car probly 10 times with it in and using a pressure washer and never have had a problem with it leaking. if its not in there then i get a stream of water straight onto my leg.

also when i had to replace my top i bought a parts car v6 the was totaled in the front and swapped everything over, hydrolics, the frame, window, all of it in one swoop. then i parted the car and ended up making $50 ontop of everything got a top, 4 new 4way speakers and a top boot cover for when the tops down.

check craigslist for wrecked cars just my .02

I have huge car problems right now. I'll read this later. Thanks!!

Yeah, when you just look @ my RH side when it's all up right, you can see a small gap. From my pass window & say my weatherstripping. That used to not be like that. I need to just take a pic of it. It's all taped up cause it's in the wrong carport. Tried to move it, It won't start!! Might rain, so I taped it up. If it's not 1 thing it's another with me. Thanks!!
