So I need to get a new vehicle..found good deals on some 05/06 grand prix GT's..(had a 3.8 gm motor before, never had any issues..please dont flame..) And my dad found a 06 with 68k miles at a dealership for like 11,900 (Asking price)..and says he saw a supercharger on the motor. It is not a GTP, has no gtp badges and it sounds like the VIN number is from a GT. Did Pontiac make some GT's with superchargers and just not the rest of the options as the GTP? Or was this something someone installed later on..?

Thanks

Link to the pictures..the motor bay shows a supercharger..Odd? Im gonna run the VIN and see if it pops up as a GT..

The 06 GT comes supercharged stock..there was no GTP..The 06 GXP took its place as a V8 car..

I've been watching those gtp's for a while. I've never seen one advertised as having a gtp motor and not be a gtp.
the car looks to stock to have someone just decide to put a supercharger on it without having done some other mods. so maybe pontiac did make a stealth gtp. IDK.

I can't stand the look of those cars. My friend has a like 03 or 05 maybe Bonneville SSEi which is with the supercharged 3.8L. Its a nice car, it seriously looks brand new inside.

Sorry had an new 05 GPrix with the 3.8L, leather moonroof (real nice), think it was a GT for 2 years and based on my personal experience and a peer of mine can't recommend them. Once I got used to the "fake" feel of the steering, I got to actually like driving it. Unfortunately when it hit 20k miles, the rear main seal leaked, had issues with it stalling in the middle of driving - highway or where ever, which ended up being very dangerous for me and a friend that had the same issue and his was worse (It may have been the computer, but GM was never able to find the issue in 10k miles). Oh yeah, the intake manifold leaked and was fixed under warranty. Other than that it was fine. Excellent hwy mileage.

I've never been impressed with Pontiac's fit and finish or styling, but the G8 is super badass and I'd drive a Bonneville SSEi.
