As long as you dont just jam it in gear or grind them for an ungodly long time its no big deal. I still do it on occasion, mostly when going thru an intersection and turning around traffic, I am so focused on traffic around me that sometimes I forget to put the shifter all the way in gear before I let out on the clutch and it grinds for just an instant. No biggy, it takes alot more than just occasionally grinding gears to harm your transmission.

thanks man, I'm relieved. other than my ocassional mood to peel out the tires, or when i go to a big open parking with plenty of room to slide, i realy like to baby my car. (complete noob at drifting and/or racing here)

Well its your car, do what you want with it. Just know that open parking lots and 8.8s dont usually get along for too long. Take a guess which party ends up hurt....Ill give you a hint, it isnt the parking lot.

haha good one. If i knew where to go i would (and until i do, i keep my shenanigans to a bear minimum) , and i doubt my car can even remotely get near 8.8sec (on a qaurter mile). I realy wish i had 2 mustangs. one to baby, one to beat up. I love my car, haha.

Negative. He said something about 8.8" rear ends, and apparently you thought he was talking about running 8.8 seconds in the 1320.

My shit grinds reguardless in 3rd and 4th. Its just a t5, they're everywhere :slap:

lol... I get the occasional grind... POS Pro 5.0 Power Tower! I got rid of the Pro 5.0 handle and put a Steeda Tri-Ax in its place... a little longer and easier to reach- it's better now but I gotta make double damn sure it's in Reverse or just as I start backing up.... GGRRRRAUNCH!!!!! Occasionally I miss Fifth but I've learned to just be firm with it and make sure the clutch has been pegfged to the floor. I think sometimes I "beat the clutch" and try to shift before the pedal's fully down.

Will be changing the fluid next weekend for a quick cycle of ATF then going to Synchromesh before winter. I'm not that aggressive with it (until I get rid of my intake with the plastic crossover, not taking any chances) but I can't vouch for any of its prior owners!

drifting is easy just put the gas pedal to the floor. I just like my body panels to much.

Driving in a straight line in a drift car is hard though. :p
