Harmonic Balancer

like the title. my harmonic balancer cam loose for some unknown reason. why did this happen?? do I need a new one to prevent it??

They do get old and yeah you need a new one.

what do you mean "came loose"? Bolt backed out, or the inner and outer pieces separated.

That's normal. They do that after a while. Just replace it with another stocker.

I just did this to mine. I found the powerbond to be the nicest looking piece.

I changed my recently with a new stock one when I did the timing cover seal. The car ran so much smoother, I seriously could not believe it. It is important to keep the motor balanced with a healthy balancer, because unbalanced crank will cause problems ranging from ruined bearings to broken crank like on my friend's 5.0.

I should replace mine before it decides to go on its own. Not replacing it w/ an OEM one though.
