I'm hoping you guys will have some suggestion for me. I know next to nothing about headlight bulbs, but looking at possibly upgrading.

Looking for something that:
- looks nice
- increases visibility
- not too much $$

I don't want an extremely bright HID that are painful to look at and are very annoying for other people.

Any suggestions? Or should I just stay with what I have.

This is what it looks like currently if it helps

could do what I did and get new headlights all together. I've heard complaints from people that the oem cobra's make "beams" of light and don't really light up the road, but after reaiming mine, I haven't had any issues. most people who see them think they're HIDs cause they have a blueish tint to them. they're not uber bright, but they were FAR better than my OEM's.

35W HID kit with 4-5000K bulbs would be perfect.
That would be pure white (yet not too bright) and you can probably find a set for around $40.

Either that or go to autozone and buy some Sylvania bulbs from autozone and polish/sand your headlights so they let more light through.

I think that is exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you!

Do you know where I could get a set? like at a store or would I have to ship them?

Also thanks belber for the suggestion! But im pretty happy with my cobra lights

If you want to keep halogen bulbs, I found that the SYLVANIA SilverStar zXe is the brightest, whitest without using a high wattage bulb that could melt a housing. I am content with them until I get a modern set of HID's that are 4300k or 5000k colored.

My headlights are crystal clear but they don't light up a damn thing. Can't wait to get some HID's. Regular headlight bulbs just don't cut it for me. Got new bulbs for xmas, slightly better than stock but still don't really light anything up. I'd just get a set of HID's if I were you imho.
