If you are going to put a huge cam in it , make sure you put a good stall converter in it to get the RPMs up quicker so you can actually get work out of the cam

Whats up with the rest of the build? Compression? Intake? A big cam and heads wont do much without either... If I'm not mistaken you canuse stock pistons, youll have piston to valve clearance issues, trust me I ran into them with a fcam. X cam is nasty tho sounds great, runs great if you have the supporting mods done

cant use* sorrylol. i agree with the other guys tho man, cant beat a custom grind, they can be expensive tho, i mean do you want performance or a sluggish ass motor till you hit 4500 rpms, by time you feel that big cam your motor will toss a rod! sorry man i just hate to see your next post saying you bent valves in your heads and cracked pistons.

I disagree with that statement but ok. And AFR isnt just the only ones to go with. Trick Flow is also another option. Are you looking for a specific number for RWHP or a track time??

honestly if you throw a huge cam and heads on an otherwise stock 302, it won't perform as well as a lesser cam.. That doesn't mean
you won't get a cam with some "Lope" to it, but to have a fun to drive car that you won't be cussing at because it doesn't run worth a
crap (especially with the finicky 94/95 computers), something like the TrickFlow stg 1, Ford Racing E or F might be more your suiting..
And you won't have to worry about smacking a valve with a piston like you might with some of the really large lift cams.
Plus, if you throw some longtubes with dumps on your car with a mild cam, it'll still sound mean as hell.
This F cam sounds pretty mean, and they still have tailpipes on the car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxrFam6zcfg&feature=related

You need to set a budget for everything and basically add an extra grand. They you can account for all the little tid bits and any setbacks that may happen.

Go to summit.com they'll have them there since they own trickflow. Probably one of the cheapest places. If you're going with trick flow it be a good idea to go with their stage 1 cam, both seem to work very well together. Now if you have a bigger budget you could get the whole H/C/I combo for around $2,600 which includes everything H/C/I plus gaskets, bolts, timing chain, pushrods, roller rockers, valve covers etc. That combo plus a tune should get you "close" to 300 rwhP
