Re: 18x10 all the way around?

it'll look funny and be less functional than you think.

How exactly would more grip on the front for the car that understeers be less functional?

If he leaves the car at full stock ride height he may not lose any turning radius but any type of sport spring is going to put it into the wheel well or a arm trying to park or turn with any decent radius, you have to run a spacer to keep it off the strut and unless its an open track car(which he made zero mention of) you shouldn't be driving in a manner that you even know the car understeers.

The car has a 1.5" drop.

@Big Tang: so what I am getting is the front is too much tire and too high of an offset on the rim to make this work?

I know GT119 is running a 18x9.5 et15 up front with a 265 tire and his looks OMG sexy. I would like minimize wheel gap but somehow be able to keep with my friends in the mountains. Cuz I know my old Focus ST would leave mustang and/or most other muscle in the dust.

don't know if there's enough room to fit a tire that wide in the front?

265 or maybe even a 275 but no bigger. like stated you will have turning and rubbing issues no questions asked. I personly run 265s 18 x9 upfront and love the look

Idk. One of my buddy's has 18x10.5 vet wheels all around on his Camaro that he rally crosses. He had to change the whole suspension and breaks.

17x10.5 +25 with a 10mm spacer and 275/40s so you can run the setup you want.. but you will lightly scrub your lower control arms. im talkin wheel... and i have also ran 18x10 -10 up front too.. but with a 225/45... so i know thats not the look your going for, but you will have to see what happens..

I think the 18x9.5 with a 265/40 all the way around like the 00R has is a perfect size.

Re: 18x10 all the way around?

my autox and open track set up is 4 18x10 Saleens with 295/35/18 Hoosier slicks on all 4. i am running a 5/16" spacer on the fronts to keep the wheel/tire off the strut. the tires stick outside the front fenders maybe 1/4" at most. i can turn lock to lock and have no rubbing(other than on my inner fender liners). my street tires which are 275/40/17 rub ALOT worse on the front than the 10s. i just dont know if i would run that set up for street especially if you live somewhere that has alot of gravel on the roads.. it will definitely chip the paint alot faster than something on a 9" wheel inside the fender!

Give the guy the offset of your wheels. That makes a difference

Re: 18x10 all the way around?

Well I am no longer looking at 18x10's because of the advice I have recieved here but here are the new rims choices:

18x9.5/et20 w/ 275/35/18 (rims weigh 22.5lbs) Rota Grids
or
18x9/et20 w/ 265/35/18 (rims weigh 24.2lbs) TD pro race 1.2

I am still iffy on the tire sizes and both rims are similar in price. Thanks for everyone's input.
