My car is basically stock, other than gears. I'm trying to make a list of things I wanna do it, but I need some help. What are the best mods to do to '96 GT that'll make it loud/fast/better? I've given up on making it look better, other than washing and waxing I'm not gonna bother with prettying it up. Thanks for any advice, I need a lot of it! haha :)

If I were you the following would be at the top of my list:

-Lowering springs
-Cold air intake
-Shorty headers
-H-pipe (x pipes sound like a*s imo)
-Louder mufflers
-Some sort of bigger tail pipes
-Short throw shifter
-75mm throttle body/plenum

Thanks! :) I have a short throw shifter already, and a CAI but I'd like to get one that isn't a ghetto Auto Zone one...

Longtubes or dont bother. In my opinion, dont buy nickel and dime mods. Save up your money and buy a blower or a turbo. You can get a vortech for a 2V for cheap.

lol i dont mean to sound like an opportunist but i have a few 4.6 parts in my garage which i have no use for. PI heads, Cams (spoken for but no finish), and headers

A pi intake swap is also great

there really is no answer to this... but the first thing I did with mine is get it back where it was supposed to be from the factory. New plugs, wires, air filter, oil change, check all the fluids, wipers, check your tie rods, brakes, alignment, tires, shocks, struts, steel fuel lines, steel brake lines, and electrical system.

When all that is back to where it was supposed to be BEFORE the stang had a billion miles of abuse then I start thinking about mods. I have a 5.0 so I started with a BBK CAI and 65 mm throttle body. I just picked up the GT40 upper and lower intake manifold and have been playing with the thoughts of GT40 heads. In your case the plenum and TB would be a solid start when paired with a complete exhaust system. Personally, I have BBK shorty headers into BBK H pipe (I like them better) and BBK exhaust. The real power adders for me will take some time, like the heads bc I will have them ported and built, and paired with a TFS cam while im torn down. Then maybe a supercharger at some point...

You need to reverse engineer this scenario. Decide what you want the end result to be for your car and then fill in the blanks to achieve that goal. For example...if you eventually want to do a 4V swap I would try to stay away from 2V only performance parts, you save money because you are only buying that part once.

CAIs aren't going to be much of a gain over your ghetto one anyways. K&N Drop-in filters and the stock air intake is all you'll ever really need. Spending money on another one is silly IMHO.
