Message: <blockquote data-quote="ttocs" data-source="post: 947614" data-attributes="member: 11896">its not that easy really.  I mean they will just plug in but at the minimum you need to match the nominal impedance of the woofer(4-8 ohms) but honestly each speaker has different peaks and will sound different.  If the impedance is not matched you can do damage to your amp, if the peaks are different they may just sound bad.  Parts express does woofer repairs like what you described and on a speakers as common as CV I would not be suprised that it could be done.  I have a pair of RE30's that I bought back when I worked at worst lie although they were quickly upgraded.  Great speakers though and worth the time to get the proper replacement or the repair done.</blockquote>
