Figure what you're getting. In the last two years I've bought an 01 GT that needed a motor for 2000, and a 97 GT with 209k miles on it for 2000 dollars. In Albuquerque, the cheapest I've seen a running V6 New Edge go for is 2500. In Phoenix it's been 1800.With 170K miles on a V6, it's probably worth 2500 to 3000. I'd recommend if you have 4000 to spend, try and spend most if not all of it. That should get you in to a 100-120k mile New Edge V6. It may be slow, it may be stock, but it will be decently reliable.
