How can I do nitrous properly without risking a whole lot?

Ok i know i wanted a blower and all this other stuff, but I've given it a long hard thinking, and with my style of driving and as often as I feel the urge to stomp on it, I dont need a blower. I'm pretty sure this time this is the set-up I want since I dont put it to the floor all the time. I want to eventually do ported PI heads and nitrous. For the time being I just want the nitrous though since its cheap, then when time allows me to do the heads ill do them. I've done a little research on nitrous and have read that it can be put on a vehicle with little to no risk if its done right. I just dont want to be one of the horror stories where nitrous destroied my engine. How can I do a nitrous kit now with my stock NPI engine and not have many worries? I want the zex kit from american muscle. Do I need to get a dyno tune or can I just use an internet tune from bama? Do I need to upgrade my fuel system? If so what should I go with?

Internet tunes are not smart for any forced induction.
If you are gonna do Nitrous then a PI swap would be great... High Compression and Nitrous are a win win and cheap power.
Keep it to a 100 shot with a good tune and it can last you a long time and get you @ 350rwhp for under $2000.

thanks man. what about my fuel system, what upgrades should I do to it? I want to do the nitrous kit within a month or so on my NPI engine, what should I do to it to make it safe until I get the PI stuff?

if I knew anything other than the fact that nitrous blows the welds off intakes and makes floorboards fall out, I'd certainly give my advice. I'm not a fan of nitrous, never will be, but, I hope someone here can help you out.

i just want it for one i get a little power hungry. i dont want a big shot just like a 75 or something. i figure a ported pi swap and cams and a 75 wet shot i should be moving pretty quick since i could potentially make 300hp without the nitrous. im not a big fan of it neither i just want that little extra power when im itchy lol and i just really dont need a blower. ive given this a long hard thought so i think its what i want to do now, unless on3 wants to hook me up still

Boost will destroy a motor just as easy as spraying it will :tard:

Who ever you know that had their intake blow up is too greedy and doesn't pay attention/know what they're doing.

I just lol'd so hard since I didn't notice that you responded before. This was a reference to Fast & the furious, and was not to be taken seriously LOL.

cool. i want full bolt ons with like a 50-75 shot for now on my npi motor then eventually get the ported pi heads and stage 2 cams with full bolt ons and a 75-100 shot but most likely 75 i just dont want to risk much

Pretty much. Yea I ran that 125 shot sooo many times on the npi motor with npi heads. I even ran the 150 on it a few times, never had one problem. The reason the engine blew was due to my stupidity, I ran it straight out of oil lol.
