My old '97 GT was bought with just under 96K miles and it needed a lot of work. Unfortunately, it was also pretty thrashed, so in spite of careful driving and being a stickler for maintenance, I couldn't change the fact that the whole powertrain was shaky from past abuse. On the other hand, I've also had a couple of cars well over 150K miles that gave me no hassle on the powertrain side.Depends entirely on the maintenance and how the car has been treated, but a good test drive should tell you what you need to know.</blockquote>
