how many miles should it last?

how many miles should a 96 auto transmission last? cause Im up to 166k right now and supposedly it has a newer engine in it but I dont really believe cause it leaks and burns a decent amount of oil too so how long do you think my engine/trany will go before needing to be rebuilt?

If maitenance is done at the right intervals you should be able to get to at least 200k without any major issues.

thats what I was thinking cause I change my oil every 3k miles of corse I havent even drove it that much yet but I have changed it like 2 or 3 times to get all the junk out of the engine in the past 2000 miles cause the person we bought it from I doubt took any good care of the car at all its kinda depressing that they treated her badly but oh well I take good care of it

I got past 210k on my stock drivetrain before I finally got fed up with not shifting it myself and put a T-5 in it.

Engine is still stock, 216k miles now.

I drive my car a lot.

It was surprisingly easy to swap from my auto to the T-5. The only major issue I ran into when it was finished was that the computer still thinks it's an auto. I just haven't gotten around to paying Ford the $90 to re-flash it.
