How Much Trouble?

Would it be to make a 98 5 speed GT, 6speed?

Is your car an automatic to begin with? If it is, it wouldnt be much different from converting to a 5 speed, but instead of using a T-5, or a T45, you would need something like a T56

Im pretty sure the T56 is what is in the 03-04 cobras, so they are pretty strong

That would be a really sick mustang, T56 is indeed the one in the cobras.

The only trouble would be the withdrawl from your bank account.

The tranny is longer, so you'll also need a crossmember and shorter driveline.

The 6 speed is the T56 - same tranny in the cobra's, corvettes, and vipers.
excellent strength rating, over 500 rwhp.
They also have a almost perfect track record.

the t56s are essentially a t45 with a second o.d. (gearing wise)
they are good for better gas mileage thats about it . however the t56s are a whole lot stronger than t5s and t45s

ive broke several t5 trannys at the track when the caer was mildly stock....and my friends nocth runnin high 9s low 10s had a t56 in his DRIVE THE PIRE SHIT OUT OF IT for 2 yrs...nothing broke...and he can drive like a mofo...there perfect trannys and if anyone is interested i think hes selling it for 1200
