So a few weeks ago I had tires put on the Mustang. I just bought it and didn't know squat about it but when they put the tires on, they told us that they couldnt balance two of the wheels because the center caps were glued in and they didn't want to bust them. They delivered the car to and from my mom's business to put the tires on and didn't do it then because they didn't want to bust them and have us get mad. So yesterday I took it by there and told them I wanted to get tehm balanced. I didn't care if they busted them because in my mind, a set of center caps is cheaper than a couple new tires. They told me they could punch them out and get them balanced today because they were really busy yesterday. So today, I called them and they told em to come around 10:30. So I went down there and they popped the front right wheel off and punched the cnetercap out and got it balanced and then stuck it back on and then done the rear. The rear did have clips but for some reason, the previous owner glued it too so they stuck it back in there after they got balancing it. Got it put back on and away I went. Tonight, I had to take something to my friends house who lives about 15 miles away (I live in the middle of nowhere, he lives in town.) I got close to his house and noticed that the car felt funny when it turned. The car leaks power steering fluid so I assumed that was the problem, I pulled over and poured some power fluid in and went a block further to his house. When I left, I noticed it was still doind it. I started going down the road and I started hearing something rattling. I pulled over at a little diner and got to looking at the my car. I went to my back wheel because I began to think that maybe the center cap was loose and rattled and that was why the previous owner glued it in. I thumped on it and nothing happened. I got my handy dandy lug wrench and tightened all the lugs down as best I could without a jack (theres no jack that I can find in my car...) and headed home. No more rattling. Its scary to think of what could have happened had I been in a hurry or something. Just a reminder to check the work others do on your car. Even if you watch them do it...
