So I picked up this 1995 ford mustang and it how to parasitic draw so I took care of that and I replaced the fuel pump. We jumped. It took it for a test drive. It was nice. Disconnected the battery put it on the trickle charger. Reconnected the battery today. Went to start it and it started up for like 2 to 3 seconds then it died now I have a crank but no start situation. Any help

Possible culprits
Distributor PIP pickup bad = no spark
Distributor TFI module bad = spark and fuel present but they not insynk
Vehicle engine control module(ECM) bad = Does the fuel pump at key turn before engine start activate the fuel pump? Does the fuel pump run a few seconds then shut off or continue to run?

Like @RAU03MACH stated, if you can figure out presence of fuel and spark, we can help you narrow the culprit down.

start checking for spark, fuel
if both present and still no start let us know
I just did the fuel pump and it does have fuel at the rail when I press the Schroeder valve. I wasn’t getting sparks so I ordered a new distributor because I’m pretty sure the PIP is the culprit. I’ll let you know when I put the new distributor in.

I definitely have fuel in the pump only runs for about two seconds before shutting off when key on but the guy who had it previously put one of those piggyback chips in it and a rotary dial for fuel pump voltage so I was figuring out that I have a new distributor on the way, I’ll let you know with any update updates

If still no spark
Check TFI
It could be burn out
Remove it and have an auto store test it out
Oriellys used to test them for you
But good things pass
Or you could buy a spare one and use it to test on car
Do not forget to apply the electrical contact grease on the back of it

I had a mechanic come over and check the TFI module and the CCM and everything‘s good

try priming the pump 2x before you start it and see if the increased pressure build up helps it run any longer. We know you have fuel at the rail but the fact it dies shortly after makes me wonder if it is able to supply enough after starting.
