I need a new T-45, gettin tired of hearing grinding gears and i've already replaced the synchros once 2 years ago, I've had to baby it ever since and really want to purchase a brand new T-45. Rebuilding is not an option, i'de be pissed if i paid to "fix" it again and it ended up the same.

if anyone knows of a website that sells t-45's post up a link.

I found a local mechanic who i trust with my car, Im looking for a good quality rebuild kit because it is the cheap route and i aint doing any crazy performance mods any time soon.

I think the rebuild kit off promotion powertrain that you posted looks good, Its an HD kit which im assuming stands for Heavy Duty. Wouldnt mind knowing a bit more about the kit, its a bit pricey but i think it looks like a complete kit, the last time I believe i might have only had the synchros redone.

Thanks for the help guys, I think im going to go the rebuild route. I've consider'd purchasing a used model but dont want another 12 year old used t-45, and i dont want to pay for the extra parts it takes to install a 3650.

Its too pricey and not worth the hassle for me at the moment, I aint lookin to go over 300 horses on my build and im nowhere near that so im only looking for a rebuild to get the car running clean. I think a t-45 is more than i could ever break with the hp i want to produce, my problem at the moment is just wear and tear, the car has 170,000+ miles on it.

I've broken 3 t45s,2 with stock motors so they were all under 300hp.the reason I said it is bc u were looking into promotion rebuild, they are not cheap.really, for the price u can pick up a used tr3650 or t45 u might as well go that route.it sounds like Ur first rebuild wasnt a good job.I have a family friend that rebuilt my original trans after I blew my 2nd one and there are upgraded revised parts to be put in.the trans was great after that, until i put it behind my current motor but it still lasted quite a bit of time.tremec can be picked up used for about 700-1100 bucks and a used bell for 150-200..not that bad and if u stay with ten spine u dont even need to change Ur clutch disc.

i havent done much racing in the few years ive had my car, i've already priced a used trans at 600 and 175 for the install, but i fear having the same problem that i do now with a used trans. im paying 450 for the kit plus labor it should be around the same price if not a bit more but i get my peice of mind. your engines way radical i see by your sig why youde need an upgrade, i'll have to wait a while til i have the funds to build something like that.

Promotion powertrain is attempting to get me the synchros that they need for the kit, Hanlon has all the parts available and ready to ship. Which kit do you guys think is better

http://www.promotionpowertrain.com/NEW_T45_Xploded_View.html

http://hanlonmotorsports.com/?q=node/4

keep in mind that hanlon has 3 kits the last of which is not on the web page, that is the one i will be purchasing. It is the full rebuild kit with everything i need. Promotion powertrain is selling me their HD rebuild kit, but im stuck because i want to purchase the better of the two but do not know enough about transmissions to make an educated choice.

Im paying a nice chunk of money for the kit and want your opinions on which kit is better.

I went with the hanlon kit because it comes with more replacement parts for the same price. I'll let you guys know how it turns out, looking forward to being able to shift into 5th gear without having it grind on me.

The full kit was perfect, I had a (dog gear?) on 5th that was messed up and it came in as a replacement part. pretty glad because i've never been able to get into 5th without grinding and the previous mechanic blamed it on the synchro. Order'd Tremek shift forks from hanlon aswell and they should be in next wednesday, cant wait to get my car back. 1/2 was broken, 3/4 was cracked and i order'd 5th just to replace it for good measure.
