So I took a spirited drive yesterday in a lotus espirit, twin turbo v8, 5 speed, light car

Car just felt amazing in every way.

I F"ing loved it.

Its insane how well the thing would hold the road.

I dont even know what would happen if I tried some of that shit in the stang..lol

I gotta say, while a mustang is NEVER gonna handle like a Lotus, I was pleasantly suprised after doing H&R Race Springs and Bilsteins + SFCS...

I wish i could drive an Espirit :(

Yea...ive got eibach sportlines, tokico yellows...but could probably use some stiffer sway bars, subframes atleast.

I doubt my mustang would ever handle like this thing.

My dad drove a few Elise's before he bought his Shelby, he was really impressed by them all around, and came pretty close to buying one.

Look around some Mustang boards for a guy name "T to the B" or Tony Bolton. His 02 walks all over Lotus' in many many ways. Nearly every ETRSCCA event he goes to, he's in the top 5 fastest cars of the day, normally beaten by purpose race built autocross cars, and open wheel cars.

Did I mention it runs high 7s in the 1/8th also on a 100 shot? lol

theres a big differance between the Elise and the Espirit though...

the Espirit is actually cool and has some balls

Im sure if I could drop some serious cash on my suspension it would handle great

You don't have to buy all the expensive MM/Griggs/Agent47 big dollar big name stuff to go fast.

My GT with BBK springs, No Name upper and lower Control arms, Tokico Blue struts, 99 Cobra rear shocks, Subframe connectors, Strut tower brace and 275 Nittos front, 315 Nittos rear beat a New Genesis coupe with some mods, an Evo 10, a couple of Evo 8's, a ProCharged GT, and some WRX's at a recent track event that we had. Our cars aren't too bad if you focus on the essentials and REALLY drive them.

Here are the times, looks like I came in 10th overall out of 25.

Sure you can make a Mustang faster around the road course than just about anything, but the problem is that it will never feel like a Lotus. I've had a chance to drive around an Exige S. I will never forget it, because it was simply the most direct and agile car I've ever had a chance to drive. Mustang simply has too much weight, and too much flex in the body. By the time you are done taking all the weight off and stiffen the chassis up, you don't have a lot of mustang left in there.

I've never driven a Lotus, (I think there's one or two in town), But I have driven a S2000 with stiff aftermarket front and rear sway bars,
agressive alignment settings (by yours truly), and Hoosier A6 tires... That is a crazy different feeling car to drive.. To be able to take 90* turns
at 30mph is rediculous... Although the owner of the car and I always joke that the car only has like 110ft/lbs of torque at the flywheel at 7,000rpm,
but still a fun car none-the-less. He frequently participates in SCCA events around here, and does really well I've heard.
