The 4V benefits big time for sure with 4.10's or more, but you are just sacrificing the drivability. You end up with a car that makes a racket everywhere it goes, while not being all that much faster, if any. With my 3.08's for example, I can shift it just below 2000 RPM to keep up with daily traffic in my area. When I am doing 30-35 MPH, it stays in 4th and just cruises along at 1200-1400 RPM. On the highway doing 60, I am at 1700 RPM give or take a couple turns. Keeps the car quiet when the garage has given me a headache already.You COULD start in 2nd if 1st is too short due to the crazy rear end ratios, but that doesn't sit right with me that 1st is just a "fun" gear. These aren't old trucks with a granny gear, they are Mustangs. They are a normal car, and normal cars set off in 1st gear. Not 2nd.</blockquote>
