I have bought a 2001 gt and it has a set of BBK aluminum valve covers on it. I can't find a new set of gaskets for them so I was going to install the stock covers but catching hell getting the driver side cover off. Does anyone have any dealings with these valve covers?

You can loosen the hydroboost and move it slightly to give you more room.

I remember years ago I replaced the lash adjusters in my ooooold 2000 gt. I just kept finagling the drivers side until it came out. Moving the booster is probably the way to go though.

Stock valve cover removal with a 4.6l is a pain within itself, not terrible, but not like an old pushrod engine with ample amounts of room. I do believe @ttocs nailed it with BBK covers, rtv is your go too

its a bit of work what i do is if no room can be made ill undo the motor mounts lifting the engine to remove the motor mounts set the engine down on the cross member to rest with a rubber pad so no damage will be done to the oil pan
should give about 3 to 4 inches on valve cover clearance
