Message: <blockquote data-quote="ttocs" data-source="post: 1213257" data-attributes="member: 11896"><p>I said that they will add hp and its been proven on dyno but we are not talking major gains or enough for me to justify the time/money and the possibility of burning up your alt.  As you said it does cause charging issues and it doesn't matter if you have a big stereo or not you will still see your lights dimming at stoplights.  As I said above that is a double negative when it creates more heat and at the same time reduces its ability to cool itself enough.  The only alternator I ever burned up in 20 yrs of driving happened to be 6 months after my UDP install and yes that could just be coincidence but I know of 3 other people that will tell a similar story.  Now this was while I was doing a lot of city driving and why I said that if you are on the highway a lot where it is up at its normal operating speed it should not be a problem.</p></blockquote><p></p>
