keeping track of emissions

Is there an easy way to keep track of how my mods are effecting emissions? I could bring the stang in to an emissions testing shop periodically... But then if I fail, I'd probably get ratted out to big brother. Plus, I would expect raised eyebrows if I brought her in 1.5 years early for the test...

Do you guys all just cross your fingers when your emissions test is due? :dontknow:

If you you got a wide band air/fuel guage you could keep track of the rich/ lean issue at least.

I use an AFR gauge, but also have a friend who owns a test station where i periodically drive in and see what its doing.
