This STI did not come to the U.S. till spring-summer 2003 and it was sold as the 2004 model. (300 bhp and 300 lbs-ft torque)

The 2004 is considered the lightest STI at 3263lbs and no radio or floormats.

i love how people always hate on mustangs. my bolt on 03gt would run 12.80's on sticky tires, I'm pretty sure that's sti territory, and if it was a regular wrx, i walked all over one with my first stang, 89gt AUTOMATIC with a car full of dumb teenagers , so i can personally say that they weren't very fast as my slushbox ran a best of 14.9

Didn't those first STi's run like low 13s, and that was if you launched the living S out of the car? I remember low 13s, mid 13s for the Evo 8's.

C&D tested the 04' STi at 13.8, and the same year evo at 13.4. They also list a 2002 WRX as a 14.4, which I can belive. 2 guys I went to high school street raced eachother, 95 Mustang GT 5spd vs. 03? WRX autobox, the guy in the subbie won by like 2-3 cars, both cars stock. I have never raced either of them, as I don't street race, but the guy in the WRX raced my friend's Hemi Jeep and lost, and my mustang is faster than my buddy's jeep

It looked like that blue one posted above. It had STI badges all over it, then again the guys driving it didnt seem like guys who knew a whole lot about cars, maybe they badged up a WRX? Not sure but I have a bassani bx catback, bassani o/r x pipe, professional products plenum and throttle body and a JLT cold air intake. I dont know much about the suby's so I honestly just put up that it was an STI because it said STI all over it and he was acting like he was the sh1t.

my friend has a 03 wrx just like the one pictured. with 2.73's hpipe and flows i was able to pull 2-3 cars on him to 100mph. now with a few bolt more bolt-ons and 3.73's i can get a car on him out the hole and be 3-4 ahead by 100mph.

peppy little cars lots of fun in the snow and great for women to drive. an sti would be another story.

I don`t really know the Subaru situation or fuel over the pond as you guys seem to get imports with the power down, but here a stock `04 WRX STi has 305 hp. 60 comes up in just over 4 secs as they`re made of plastic and held together by chewing gum and string. My 03 GT runs 98ron and is nippy but I still wouldnt tackle a wrx sti here (especially as 90%of the roads are winding and twisty and thats a Scoobys thing)

a stock 2003 wrx impreza has 225hp and like 200 ft/lbs and run on 14.5-15lbs of boost out of a td04 turbo. they do ok for a 2.0 4 banger but dont get much better fuel econ then my 5.0 and have about the same hp with less tq. also much less tq.

an sti is somewhere in the 300's i would like to run one a few times and see the difference from the little sister to the big brother.

More than likely it seems like it was a WRX badged up as a STI, oh well. Still nice to burn a guy who thought he was hot sh1t ha.

Totally agree. Nothing like wiping the smug smile from someone with a huge ego. Fcuk it. I said I wouldnt BUT .....I`m going to look at gears for my GT. :laughing4:

gears will do wonders against an awd subaru.
the best is when the smug douches start something they cant finish...
last turbo 1.6 eg hatch i saw, guy was like i created a monster wanna run. i ask how much boost he said its only a single cam.... i said the same thing then we ran em... i won told him to learn to drive and he got mad and left.

Im running mine this spring when the track opens so I'll find out what they can do
