as the title states. i'm wondering if it is worthwhile getting a mail order tune from lasota racing? i already have the sct xcal 3 and i've played with the fuel and spark that it allows me to do myself. on the dyno it showed my air/fuel ratio at ~12.8 and going to 12.0 at 6000rpm.
for the $50 it costs, would it be a good idea to get done? power and safety wise?
another route i could go is bring it to the mustang shop in Calgary,AB which is only a little over an hour drive, and get it dyno tuned. but for the extra cost i'm not sure it'd be worthwhile with the mods i have right now.
anyone able to shed some light on this for me?
thanks

Hey, our cars are quite similar -- you must be a wise man!

Here's my 2 cents: the dyno tune will take care of the WOT area of operation and Lasota Racing will take care of the drivability (low-mid throttle) area. I don't have a tune by Don but I can vouch for his frequent help across the 'net and on the SCT forums. I suggest that you call him and ask him what he wants datalogged and then go from there. And, call the dyno shop to see if they can do it all. Imho, drivability is tricky to get just right with cams (it has taken me a lot of logging and tweaking but I work slowly). In the end, you have to decide what is more important to you: drivability or track performance or both. It's only money, Mike!

HTH,

Chris
