I keep reading that long tube headers won't work on convertibles. I'm thinking that is because of the extra bolt-on brace under the car. So, if I take the brace off, I can use long tubes? I have subframe connectors and strut brace on the car already, and am just going to have a PI swapped 4.6 with bolt-ons but no power adder.

Mine came with the brace under the K-member removed and it looks like there is enough clearance for LT's. I myself have not experimented with them though.

Pull the x brace and throw on the LTs
Same chassis vert or coupe dont matter. Only reason they wont fit a vert is because of the x brace.

What brand headers? I see cheap stainless headers for $150 or less on fleaBay, but want something that'll fit.

DONT GET THOSE! Please don’t get those lol. I put them on my 2 valve and then made them fit my coyote. They fit like crap. Hit the frame rails and steering shaft.

I found some used Mac headers and had them Ceramic coated. BBK"s also seem to fit with no problems. As much of a pain as it is to install headers on our cars You want good quality and Stage 8 locking bolts...

For the difference in performance on a mostly stock car I would say longtubes are NOT worth it. I just couldn't help myself...

I have headers and the X brace No issues at all...

CAI, Accufab throttle body and plenum, PI head and intake swap, 3.73 gears, 2.5" exhaust, and when done will load a tune off a Diablosport. Yeah, just bolt-ons, but still thinking about it. I have shorty headers sitting on the shelf already but figured go for it.

Anybody running Pacesetters? Looks like better quality than the imported clones without the price tag of the BBKs.
