Looking at 1997 SVT Cobra

Hey guys, I'm somewhat new here. I had a 1996 Mustang GT for a while then had to sell it to cover college tuition. I've reciently graduated and am looking to get back into a Mustang. I found a 1997 Mustang in great condition, black with brown leather, 5-speed, everything looks great nothing wrong with it that i could find. It has 135,000 miles on it which makes me a little nervous but i drove it around and it seems to run very solid. They are asking $8995 for the weekend sale, regularly $10500. I offered $8000 and they said they would consider it. Is this high? anything i should be looking for with such high miles? I've been looking around for quite a while and cobras are pretty rare around here (Idaho) Thanks guys. Love the fourm -Nate

Thats quite a bit high for the mileage. I paid $6,600 for mine with 131,xxx on the clock 3 years ago from a dealer. Other than having high mileage my car is in very good condition.

I paid 12k for my 97 cobra 2 years ago. It was a bit much, but it was being sold thru a local dealer and only had 54k miles on it.
It was worth the extra to me since I did not have to look all over for one and it had low miles. I was like you I had an 83 GT years ago and decided to get back into a stang.

I dont know I agree sounds a tad high, I paid 9k for my cobra last year and it had 54k on the clock.
