I bought a Stack Racing Cold air intake awhile back with the snorkel and installed it and haven't had any problems with it, but im looking to see if i could get rid of the snorkel ( i believe that's what it's call) and i currently have the filter in the engine bay and dont want it in the wheel well. so i have access to the filter easier.

Anyone know if i could maybe just do a simple switch not really looking into buying a whole new cold air intake set up. Also would it make the check engine light come on just looking for some advice. I can post some pictures if that might help.

I see no reason why that wouldnt work.

There is no reason for the check engine light to come on as long as the MAF is still functioning properly it will adjust itself.

just curious, why do you want such quick/easy access to the filter considering how often it really needs to be accessed and cleaned? Its not that big of a deal to take it out when its in the fender and it will get better air in there as well.

It's just the car is my daily driver for now and i want to make sure its not getting wet or if it fell of or something....It sounds stupid but just more piece for mind for myself.
The only thing is when i put the throttle body on and the cold air it was a stupid tight fit. Its a 78mm throttle body so its a tight fit. I can put some pics up to show you what im working with.

why dont you buy the K&N FIPK. Just use the intake tube down to the mass air, then bolt the mass air to this K&N system.
