Ok so last year i went to a shop and they installed some longtubes on my car and last week i was checking the oil and i noticed i had an exhaust bolt just about to fall off, i torqued it down then i checked the other ones and there were 2 missing on the left head and 1 on the right head, so i went to a ford dealer to buy the "BOLTS" and they told me the car had studs from the factory, and now im wondering why the hell do i have bolts instead of studs and why the F are they falling off?

Stock came with bolts and a couple of studs in order to attach the oil dipstick and some other things. Get some stage 8 locking header bolts. They're not cheap but you'll have the peace of mind that they won't back out again

I have stage 8 and do not like them at all. I am just using the bolts now and not the locking hardware.

It's not uncommon at all for them to back out, I lost at least 4 like that the first time I did my headers. If you don't have locking bolts you really need to check them and tighten them every few days, mine eventually stayed tight.

vibration backs the bolts out go to autozone and get the wire lock bolts they will tighten in any position with the tool that comes with them or just fight with allen head with lock washer

I put a new set in, one heat cycle and a few backed out.

I tightened them again and have had no problems.
