I was wondering with the following set up if I could reach Low 13's to high 12 with my 1995 5.0 5speed: 3.73 gears with traction lock, lower control arms, aluminum driveshaft, rear seat delete, short-throw shifter, underdrive pullies, 75mm throttle body, and CAI.

I'm just wondering, because I'm trying to go as fast as I can, with as little horsepower as possible. High horsepower numbers are nice, but I like real track times. If this is in the wrong section, then by all means tell me, but I may be asking some more questions about the 5.0.

I agree, it probably would be high 13's. I didn't want to add a cam or aftermarket intake yet, because I plan on completely rebuilding the motor soon anyways. I just wanted to know how fast I could make it without actually digging into the motor.

practice is hte best thing you can do yet the cheapest to going fast....get to know your car as far as launching and what not....you can more than likely hit a mid 13 with some tires and practice if you have a strong running engine.

If your running street tires you prob wont hit 13's but if your running a good DR then you maybe able to hit really high 13's

Also remember one thing...every time you add a bolt-on to your car you have to re-learn the characteristics of your car..

That's why the driver mod is the best mod in the world. Ive posted this info before but I belive it bears repeating. It took me all summer to do this but the first summer I had the Cobra the first run was a 14.1 (had not been to the track in a year or so) The only thing changed performance wise from that run to the last run of the year was I added 3.73 gears (from 3.27)Magnaflow exhaust (from Dynomax) and weld rims with MT ET Streets (I also has 31 spline axles and 31 spline differential but those have nothing to do w/ better track times) and by the last run of the year I was at 12.8. Learning your car and how to drive it is the best thing to do

i love being a lazy driver with an automatic and a 2-step on a line lock, no skill involved, go to the line, press the gas all the way down and just release a button, and damn near consistent every time

but all laziness aside...driver mod is the best, it was bitch when i first went to 4.10's with no dr's, ya get so use to driving the car one way and then it all changes when you do something else, especially for you manual guys
