Need some advice from members. What are the best springs for lowering a 98 convertible and do I really need caster plates?

I have Vogtland springs specific to convertibles, my wife has Eibachs specific to convertibles. Can't tell much difference. Some cars can get away without ccaster plates, but most can't. You won't know until you have the springs in the car.

I have the Eibach spring on our 98. They work well. I have the camber plates. I had to use a bump steer kit to correct the steering.

First off welcome to the forum.

its hard to say what would be best for the car when we have no idea what your doing with it. Daily driver/track car? How low do you want it? How much performance vs ride quality are you willing to sacrifice? Finally the biggest question is whats the budget?
