that is what I thought last night. I wasn in my dads workshop working on project when I saw it and thought about this post. Dad bought a hole roll and never even took the wrapper off or I would have had no idea what it was. Couldn't be more then $4-5 for the roll and there was enought o do a few cars.

Heck anyone wanna buy some?

Awsome link. Some pretty cool stuff. But I couldnt tell from some of the pics... Some looked like the back had vents too, others didnt though.

you have a choice to get the cowl slots or not when you order. the racecar I saw did have the cowl slots.

That is awsome, I wouldnt really like the top vents open, just because its my daily in the summer. I think it would be a little hard to keep crap and the rain out. But I love the look. If it was my cruiser I get both open.

well it comes with the bottom plate that attaches and closes the fin holes up if you don't want to use them as well.

Mine had open vents on the back part, but the top decorative vents werent functional.. that always bothered me, and if I even get another 2000r style hood, that will be fixed...but I'll probably just get a regular cobra r 3.5 next time.
If you read the description of the 2000R, you would see that it lists the hood as "...has gills that can be cut out to reduce engine compartment temperatures." So, not only are they non-function on the real car, but they were designed with the intention of making them functional if you desire. So you're always gonna buy the hood with non-functional vents, and if you want them functional, then that would be up to you to do.

Yes I saw that. I Just never got around to doing it.

I have the hole on the drivers side, I have a carbon fiber hood 3 inch. If i was to cut it all the way across what "mesh" would I use to cover the hole? Mine has like a honey bee mesh on the back, where would I find that?

I have the Cervini Mach 1 hood, fully functional. Open in the rear and open in the scoops. Can't say I am really sold on it but I do like the thought of all the air flow.

I hope you guys realize that cowl is actually a high pressure area, and your opened cowl induction hood is not venting out anything at speed. As a matter of fact it's actually sucking the air in, hence the name cowl INDUCTION. So, what this means is the faster you are going, the more air you are actually sucking in under the hood. This affects cooling and front end lift in negative way.
