So I came acrossed a deal on a bottom end from a 98 mark8 with 70k on it($100). It's aluminum. Is this worth the time and effort to tear down and re assemble for my gt. What are the pros and cons. Any common issues with the aluminum block. Would I be able to use termi heads and an 03 timing set on this. Is everything pretty solid on these as well. please help.

Plenty of people use these motors and yes you can c head swap. Or put ur 2v heads on it . The Teksid blocks are great and a nice weight savings

I think I'm leaning towards putting my pi swap on this block. If everything looks good I will run a hone through the cylinders and put new piston rings in. Any thoughts on this.

the only problem with doing that swap is the compression will be too high with the stock cams, you need some pretty aggressive cams to bleed off the low rpm compression to run it on pump gas.
