are all the 01-11 mercury marquis 4.6 motors the same pi heads and pi cams as the pi mustang motor

Im thinking it was 02-up that were pi for sure. Like 01 may have been the switch years. Try to find 04-up heads cause they are 8thread sparkplug. They are essentially the same heads, but different cams. Mustang having the better cams.

Yes, for the 2001 model year the Romeo plant was the final plant changed over to PI head production. No Nonpi heads were made after 2000.

Find an '04 and up because they had the upgraded all aluminum suspension and hydro formed frame that made for the stiffest car I have ever put up on 3 jack stands.

so the cams will not be the same as the mustang cams ? i found a cheap 08 motor. with the 08 ever thing from my 96 motor like water pump, alt and stuff should bolt up if im using a pi intake ? 08 should be romeo as well ?

All the accessories will bolt up. No worries.

As far as I know, the 1l2e cams seem to be the standard Romeo cam for PI engines. Unless someone can correct me. They're good cams.

Just picked up 2009 Grand Marquis complete Motor from junk yard for 300 with 58000 miles on it.

I plan to put it into my 96 gt at some point.
