My 95 gt. haven't replaced anything yet just wanting ideas. Check engine light comes on and goes off all the time when driving. And at random times it will start getting really jumpy at part throttle and feel like it running on 5 cylinder and ill floor it and it goes away at full throttle, then comes back at part throttle. Then ill usually cut it off and cut it back on and it's gone:shocked:. And When I tried to jump the wire under the hood on the diagnosing port thing, the check engine light didn't flash, so no code saved or something? Any input appreciated

What else can you tell us about recent mait on the car??

to me it sounds like you could have a few things wrong

pcm possibly loosing signal briefly
possible o2 sensor or sensors going bat crazy
a bad draw on your system from maybe a electrical gremlin
or could also need a tune from some recent upgrades

could be a TPS
IAC
MAF dirty as crap

I've also thought tps because my revs will jump most of the time on shifts. And when it is doing this random spell on me. I can almost feel it clear up when I let off the throttle completely. And also not to long ago, it had sort of a dead spot at around 2500 rpm where it felt like i would I literally cut the switch off for about 1 second then it would come back. Like if I was in first and full throttle it would feel like i dumped the clutch the way the power went away and came back. Sound like tps?

First step is to pull codes.
The computer stores the codes for a while even though the CEL isn't currently on.

when I tried to by jumping the wire on the test port or whatever. no lights in the odo started blinking? I followed the instructions perfect for pulling the codes that way. ill try again though

Why not just buy a 25 buck code reader from Wally World and get the $hit done? How can you guys think to properly diagnose mechanical issues w/o the proper tools?

IMO, it sounds like a dead or dying set of original O2 sensors or OEM distributor going south. But, I'd pull codes first.

You might have the wrong port on the big connector.
It took me a couple times to figure it out but now it's easy peasy.

I had a similar problem, its a crapshoot, but what does your intake look like? Do you have a cold air with silicone joints by any chance?

factory maf, tube, all of that. with a hole before the tb for the nitrous. but it would do this same problem before I hooked the nitrous up. just started doing it a little more often.

If there is any dry rotted rubber or cracked plastic, it can cause this, I would make sure the intake is air tight.
