I reused my stock ones in my motor and they're noisy as hell, I noticed a few of them had a little bit of play in them. nice to know there's an upgrade.

Your best replacement for what you will do, will be Stock. I found 1 other set made by T&D Machine for the price of 160.00 each.

Yeah I nearly shat a brick when I saw the price of Jesel Aluminums on MMR. $1800 for 20-30rwhp ain't cost effective right now, If I max out the power of the motor later on down the road and I have the money for it, why not, but, now... heck no. lol

in-order to see that HP gain you need to have the rest of the motor up to par. Also to install some of them you need to remove the cam shaft so its even more of a pain in the ass. Im working on a set for my motor for the sole reason of less deflection @ 8,000 rpm.

Reguardless they are still expensive.

True. But I'm building my Teksid to be up to that par ;)

Really? all I did with the cam swap when i put everything back together was just rotate the cam so the lobe was not interfering. I obviously drained all the oil out of the lifters to make it simple. Is there really that much of a size difference that it'd require removal of the cam?

On some of them there are. If you look at the side clearances, the OE and "FR500" and even the "GT" have a narrow tip where it sits on the lash adjuster. The others are much thicker.

I probably should have looked at the picture more closely. The Jesel is HUGE lol. Well that's a bummer. guess I'll just go oem.

so about $340. That's a LOT better than $1800. I might end up doing the GT500.

All I can I say is thank god I don't have a 4v lol

You gain quite alot when you think of deflection and getting the full amount of lift from the camshaft, you get a lighter part, and you get less rolling resistance so you have less paracitic loss thoughout the valve train

not quite worth the hefty price tag when you can buy a set of built heads for that price.

but if your going to build a motor and want to get the hp that you can, why not spend it. Its only money, you cant take it with you, and if you paid for the other parts to make that hp, why not use the parts that will allow you to attain all the possible hp

you make a good point but, it still could be better spent obviously for the budget minded people. By all means though, if you wipe your butt with Benjamin franklins then why not lol.
