On my 2000 with a V6, the drivers side motor mount is considerably easier to get to than the right side.
I want to just replace the left for now because it's the only mount that's really bad.
Do you guys think the engine can be lifted up enough to slide it out without loosening anything on the passenger side?

Any input appreciated

i do it with car on jack stands and a floor jack under oil pan
a thick rubber pad between jack plate and oil pan so oil pan is not damaged

Awesome!
That is not the answer I expected, but it's the one I HOPED FOR! lol

The starter bendix has been getting weak for years, so I was hoping to hold off about the right side mount until I'm ready to replace the starter since it has to come out anyway.

But with my luck, I imagined I might not be able to get the left one out without loosening the right side.

About a month ago, my engine suddenly started shaking when idling just under 2 grand. Man did I ever go down a rabbit trail.

I replaced the spark plugs and wires, checked the coil, cleaned ALL the sensors, removed the Throttle Position Sensor and cleaned the piston, put a new air filter on and still, it shook.
The vibration was really pronounced in the cabin and at night my lights looked like they flashed up and down.

While I thought it novel to experience what my car might feel like with an 8 cyl and a loping cam, the seat massage got old after a week.

Then while standing over the engine, I pulled the throttle open a bit and was surprised how much the engine lifted.

On closer inspection, I saw the rubber in the mount move like mush.

I just never had a motor mount go bad, or that suddenly.
Sneaky rat bastard.

While I have lifted the engine by the oil pan several times, it always rented a little space in my head wondering what that kind of pressure was doing to my oil pan gasket.

Shovel offered this piece of advice to GTamas in another mount thread;

"Be aware that on nearly all the motor mounts I've bought for these cars (and several other types of cars) the holes for the bolts going into the block don't always 100% line up and sometimes need a little massaging with a file, a drill or a hammer. It doesn't take much offset for a bolt to refuse to start threading and then a man could lose his mind trying."

While foreboding, I was wondering if I was going to run into this.

I was also contemplating having to grind a stud down a bit.

It seems like nothing lines up on my Pony.
But then, it's been totaled by a deer before too...
