On a side note I used to have that exact same HU in my last car, loved it so much that I picked up a Panasonic CQ-DFX983U to replace the Pioneer that was in there

Looks good, is it any harder to get to? I like the factory spot because I can rest my hand on the shifter while I fiddle with it.

hey no I bought that gauge holder awhile back and cant remeber where I got it from. It is made to go in place of the pocket thing. Also all I did was take the radio and that metal sleeve it comes with you slide that in the slot, then on the back side of the metal sleeve it has tabs just bend them up so that it stays locked in, then just slip the radio in and it locks in place with the sleeve.

I did this on mine as well, there is plenty of room down there if you take out the mach amp. You can also hang the deck from the bottom slide the same way it mounted on top to get a more stable mount. I actually molded the alpine trim rin into the dash and mounted the deck from the back so that it blends with the dash better. I do not have any viewing problems in that location myself.

my fave. is just like dal's. gauges
radio
heat/ac controls

can see gauges without moving eyes as far from road when at top. radio cd eject is at fingertips and not reaching around shifter to remove cd. heat/ac are rarely adjusted while car is moving and easiest to memorize so they can be least assessable.
